Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Optician to join our team. As a Licensed Optician, you will be responsible for helping patients select, fit, and adjust eyewear to ensure optimal vision and comfort. Your duties will include interpreting prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists, recommending suitable eyewear styles, and educating patients on eyewear care and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities:

Eyewear Selection:

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their vision needs, facial features, and personal style.
• Provide recommendations on frame styles, lens types, coatings, and other options based on patient preferences and prescriptions.

Prescription Interpretation:

• Accurately interpret optical prescriptions provided by optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Ensure correct lenses are ordered and fitted according to the prescribed specifications.

Fitting and Adjustments:

• Measure patients’ facial dimensions and optical centers for proper eyewear fitting.
• Adjust frames for comfort and optimal visual alignment.
• Perform repairs and adjustments on eyeglasses, including replacing lenses or parts as needed.

Lens Preparation:

• Use precision tools to cut, edge, and fit lenses into frames.
• Verify the accuracy of finished lenses using lensometers and other optical instruments.

Customer Service:

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
• Follow up with patients to ensure satisfaction with their eyewear.

Sales and Inventory Management:

• Manage eyewear sales, including processing transactions and handling payments.
• Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and optical accessories.
• Place orders for new stock and ensure timely replenishment of inventory.

Compliance and Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of patient prescriptions, orders, and eyewear fittings.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and optometry practice guidelines.

Continuous Learning:

• Stay updated with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and advancements in optical technology.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Licensed opticians play a vital role in ensuring patients receive high-quality, well-fitted eyewear that meets their vision needs and enhances their overall experience.
